Just two and a half years after playing grassroots football, 16-year-old Academy Player graduate Cameron Stones steps onto the professional stage with Wycombe.
It has been a week to remember for The Academy Player graduate Cameron Stones, who made his professional debut for Wycombe Wanderers in the Carabao Cup against Leyton Orient in midweek, before earning a place on the bench for the Chairboys’ League One fixture at the weekend.
At just 16 years old, Cameron’s rapid rise is a story of hard work, dedication, and resilience. Only two and a half years ago, he was representing The Academy Player FC as an U14. Fast forward to today, and he is walking out in a senior fixture for a League One club.
Cameron has spent his summer training in the lab with us, sharpening his technical and physical attributes to prepare for the demands of football with his new club, Wycombe Wanderers FC. His commitment has clearly paid off, as Wycombe showed faith in the teenager by handing him his first-team opportunity.
This debut marks not only a milestone in Cameron’s journey, but also an inspiring example for young players across grassroots football - proving what is possible with the right attitude and work ethic.
Everyone at The Academy Player is immensely proud of Cameron’s progress, and we can’t wait to see what comes next in his journey with Wycombe Wanderers.
