The Academy Player was launched in 2017 by owner Jack Gostelow alongside Ali Simmons. With his excellent knowledge of football, coaching and the academy football system, Jack was primed to create a system of great potential. Since then, The Academy Player has now established itself as a global brand in the football training industry, developing an expansive collection of unique and innovative drills which have transformed the individual training landscape. TAP has now helped thousands of players unlock their full potential, whilst influencing hundreds of thousands online through the social media platforms and online training programs.

We are now well-established as one of the largest technical football trainers in Europe, whilst being influential on a global scale. Our work is centred around improving the technique of the players we work with, provided that this is something which is overlooked in training within many clubs. It is a crucial component to any player in the modern game, and is fundamental in helping players elevate their game to the next level. Through using our unique training facilities and original drills, our sessions place great emphasis on providing players with match-realistic, transferrable skills, as well as developing components of performance such as decision-making and awareness.

Over the past eight years, we have worked with over 100 players at professional sides in our London-based training lab, attracting stars such as Myles Lewis-Skelly, Max Kilman, Chuba Akpom, Brandon Thomas-Asante, Jamal Lowe, Isaac Hayden and many more.

Our strong technical training ethos has also been transferred into our grassroots sides, which have been very successful in creating a strong pathway for young footballers into academy football. Over 20 players from the set-up have been signed in the past four years alone, whilst a side has also won the Nationals.
